Audio Visual Technician
Position Title: Audio/Visual Systems Technician
Report to: Operations
Status: Full-Time, Hourly
Position Summary: Works as part of a high-performance team providing Audio/Visual Design & Installation services to a variety of clients and market sectors. DoD security clearance is beneficial.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs installation, configuration, calibration, and troubleshooting of audio systems, video walls, room control systems, lighting control systems, and mounting & grounding of communications equipment and peripheral equipment such as network routers, switches, wireless access points and security appliances
- Reviews, analyzes and comprehends cabling diagrams and other project design documentation
- Conducts site walkthroughs with project stakeholders to assess site readiness; identifies issues for remediation prior to team deployment
- Conducts quality control checks in accordance with project policies and procedures
- Prepares and maintains technical documents and system documentation
- Updates project documentation to provide ‘as-built’ information for handoff to operations and maintenance
- Prepares and conducts technical briefings, training sessions, and policy development
- Provides technical resources for sales staff
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Requires lifting and moving crates, boxes, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to climb, squat, bend and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Strong verbal, reading, writing and problem-solving skills
Experience/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- CTS certification preferred
- Working knowledge and experience of cable pathway (j-hooks, cable tray and conduit) installation standards and best practices
- Working knowledge and experience of fiber optic cable terminations and testing
- Working knowledge and experience in terminating CAT5 and CAT6 cables and testing
- Experience with Audio/Visual solution installations including maintenance of telephony equipment
- Knowledge of job drawings, sketches, prints and other project documentation
- Ability to work independently 40-50 hours per week depending on demand
Work Hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Some weekend and afterhours work required. Some travel required.
